In recent years, more than 2,500 books have been removed from school districts across the US, marked as banned, restricted or challenged, making them inaccessible to millions of students.

It's no coincidence that it targeted topics that are common scapegoats of the American right—LGBTQ+ issues, black history, and women's empowerment—that hinder the power of future generations to develop their own thoughts and opinions on key social issues.
