Fiume o morte!

Fiume o morte!

Croatia, Italy, Slovenia 112 min.

Poetry, cocaine, dynamite, guns, football, airplanes, furniture flying out of the window, concerts, prisons, sunbathing, thousands of soldiers, millions of bullets, endless speeches and even one strange platypus... All these are parts of one of the most bizarre occupations in the history of mankind.

In 1919, the Italian poet, dandy and preacher of war Gabriele D'Annunzio occupied the city of Fiume. The citizens of Fiume, today called Rijeka, recount and reinterpret the bizarre story of the 16-month occupation of their town in a brutally factual, but defiantly punkish film journey.
