A famous film director in a midlife crisis calls his unrepentant ex-girlfriend to Bled to help him write a film based on their relationship.

Sara, a forty-year-old professor, receives an unexpected birthday card from Niko, her ex-lover from Vienna, and learns that Niko is recovering from an accident in Bled. She goes to visit him, where Niko expresses his desire to help him write a screenplay. While working on the screenplay, Sara and Niko confront their painful past and failed relationship, resulting in a therapeutic catharsis...
