The story of the film follows a young boy, Tori, and a teenage girl, Lokita, who left their native countries of Cameroon and Benin to start a new life in Belgium. The two try their best to find work on the black market and send money back to their families.

During their journey together, their friendship creates an unbreakable bond that helps them survive. Hoping to get papers to stay in the country, the two soon discover that there are a number of obstacles standing in their way. Together they must fight for their friendship and their lives as the world around them slowly begins to collapse. Nevertheless, believing in a better tomorrow and a better life, their struggle is an astonishing proof of the strength of the human spirit and the courage of their relationship.
