The great Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki died.
Without his music we can’t imagine films like The Exorcist (1973), The Shining (1980), Children of Men (2006), Shutter Island (2010). David Lynch especially loved him, so he used his music in the film Wild at Heart (1990), as well as in several episodes of the Twin Peaks series. A huge influence that transcends genres and decades can be illustrated by one example - his great fanboy, Radiohead's guitarist Jonny Greenwood, composed the music for P. T. Anderson’s film There Will Be Blood as a direct tribute to his composer role model, the genius Krzysztof Pendereck.
