The second and final day of the "ZFF travels" program brings the Icelandic film "The County" by the former ZFF laureate Grímur Hákonarson to the Kino Zona.
Like the award-winning film ''Rams''(ZFF 2015), the author once again touches the surface of rural Icelandic communities. This time, at the center of the story is a rebellious middle-aged heroine that makes many compare this film to ''Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri'' and ''Woman at War''. After her husband's death, Inga finds out that their dairy farm is in huge debts to a powerful cooperative that holds a monopoly over the business of local farmers through illegal intrigues. Too resigned to resist the status quo, her countrymen are surprisingly loyal to the machinery that exploits them, and Inga must use all her cunning to free herself from the firm grip of the cooperative and start living by her own rules.
