The film focuses on Jelinek's artistic use of language, the "controlled loss of control", [4] and deals in detail with her public perception. Her works received numerous awards, and from the 1960s onwards she created a complex and multifaceted body of work that covered numerous literary areas. She was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2004, making her the first Austrian Nobel Prize winner for literature.
